I received the 250 mb variant for my birthday and had many issues with scratchy sound in one of the speakers when I moved my head quickly but was still amazed how well the sound could come through in spite of swimming fast, doing flip turns, etc. I’m a former collegiate swimmer and now swim in a master’s program. I called FINIS and they were polite and provided a return authorization inside five days I had a brand new unit and they upgraded it to the one GB version! there aren’t issues with the newer variant the volume controls work more smoothly and the sound is good.
Swimming with the SwiMP3 is easy it doesn’t move or flap against your face when pushing off the wall throughout a flip turn it’s low profile, but I haven’t tried diving from starting blocks still. When not in the water, the sound looks like it could be inadequate, but once you’re in the water, the sound just comes alive not BOSE quality, but I’m thrilled with this device and what I can hear while swimming. The device is easy to pause between sets if wanted, but you may be able to easily converse and hear others without turning the volume down or pausing. Button placement is easy to acclimate to without having to take off your goggles to change volume, change songs, etc.
Using the device with my laptop is a breeze wish the USB cover had a tether may be easy to lose, but not a big issue,easy to drag and drop songs haven’t tried it with i tunes and haven’t used the FINIS software.
I love this player have suggested it 1 GB version to many of my friends this device is specific for in water use it isn’t supposed to be a music storage device, and could not be good for everyday use out of the pool it’s well worth the price to load up many tunes to make those laps go by which I was never good at counting anyway.

This is a great investment. I have had mine for over a yeara and i think it holds up better than my other MP3′s. I use this while in the water swimming long length 2 4 miles dont jusge it till you get into the water. Purchase THIS PRODUCT!!!!!
