6451 Wine Bottle Plant Nanny Stakes — Three 4-packs reviews:
Rating: Plant nannies
The wine bottle nannies work really well in keeping indoor and outdoor potted plants properly moistened. They’re also a pretty conservation part.
Rating: The best way to water!
I love these things! I use them for houseplants and in the garden to decrease the total of manual watering needed. Every not many weeks I mix up many Miracle Gro and fill the wine bottles with it and my plants have never looked better. I just wish I could find them locally because I am hooked.
Rating: Great idea paint the bottles
These work great for keeping your plants watered and you may be able to really
Jazz them up, particularly in plants that don’t bloom. Simply paint
Each wine bottle with pretty flowers using enamel paints paint the design upside down and place in a cold oven, turn on to 325 degrees, bake for 30 minutes and let the oven cool totally before you open it vital. The bottles are now pretty and will add color to your green pot plants also as water. They make really neat gifts for friends and family.
Rating: You can trust your plants to these nannies!
I 1st bought this plant nanny as a gimmick for my potted plants because I’m both an avid gardener and an avid wine drinker! I have since ordered three more “sets” of nannies.
Because the stakes are made of clay, I knew they could be an efficient watering tool. Was I surprised at just how efficient and fun they really are!
If you invert a regular size wine bottle into a five gallon pot, your plant will get a steady supply of water for about 2 2 1/2 weeks. With the bigger wine bottle, you may be able to get 3 three 1/2 weeks. I have used these for about a year now. I have left home for a month at a time and returned to healthy indoor and outdoor plants.
Follow the simple information. Completely water plants before inserting the stakes. Push the stake GENTLY into the wet soil. If you push hard, the clay will chip learned that one the hard way!. If the stake chips, you may be able to still use it! I have regular wine bottles in two chipped stakes. Then, simply invert a full bottle of water into the stake. Bigger potted plants need two bottles and stakes.
They became valued birthday and Christmas gifts for family and friends, and I’m generally proud to present them as a hostess gift.
It never fails to give a gift that you love yourself!
Rating: These will become your plant’s new best friend!
I came across these Plant Nanny spikes at my local Smith &, Hawken a while ago and have been in love with this product ever since! many of my plants are in windows, which tends to dry them out so quickly that I could oftentimes not water them sufficiently before they could start to show signs of distress. This product solved my problem and helped to ensure that my plants are properly watered not too wet, not too dry and look stylish to boot especially if you have a nice bottle..instant showpiece.
You simply press the spike into your houseplant or outdoor plants..you can use them everywhere and place an annulled bottle into the Plant Nanny. Your plant gets a uninterrupted watering, and if you use a clear bottle you may be able to see when the water level gets low and replinish before your plants take a nose dive.
One word of caution: as many other’s noted before me, you do want to be sure that your set isn’t broken: they’re made from something akin to terra cotta and may be a bit fragile, which makes shipping some a challenge if not done properly. As well, take care when you’re inserting these into soil.If you are too rough you will hear the heartbreaking sound of roots being ripped to shreds in your established houseplants!
Overall, I greatly recommend this product for anybody who is looking for an easy and pretty inexpensive way to keep their plants healthy.
